The 8th of June 2014 Scheveningen will be home of the World Ocean Day. The organizers of the event were kind enough to ask me to participate and replicate the FaceBoard concept in a very special setting.
The focus this year is on reducing plastic use (and abuse) which causes irreversible damages to the sea above and especially below the surface of the water.
Earlier this year I was asked to elaborate on the concept and create a shooting setup featuring a girl dressed in plastic right in front of the ocean waves which resulted in the picture you see above.
The World Ocean Day event will open its doors on the 8th of June at 10.30 o’clock at the Chizone Event Center, in de Lourdeskerk, Berkenboschblokstraat 9a, 2586 HD Den Haag – Scheveningen. There you will find me ready to take your picture too!
Participants will have their photo taken, with a board and sentence of choice. You don’t need to reserve and I am pretty sure you will easily spot me once you gain access inside 😉
You can find more info on the event at this page (in Dutch).
The event in Scheveningen this year is organized by the Sea First Foundation, an active NGO made of people passionate for the well being of our waters and that I decided to support throughout my FaceBoard project by donating a small sum collected during the FaceBoard shootings that I have organized so far.
